  • Elizabeth Fenton School of Dancing

The Elizabeth Fenton School of Dancing was founded in 1977 by Elizabeth Fenton and in 2016 was passed onto her daughter, Felicity Stewart.

The Elizabeth Fenton School of Dancing is a local dance school with a long reputation for excellence in all dance genres. The school provides a caring and friendly atmosphere, combined with the highest quality dance teaching, nurturing natural talent with the goal of producing good all-round performers.

The school’s main aim is to inspire in pupils a love for dancing and performing; and whether a pupil wishes to dance as a hobby, or to pursue a professional dance career on the stage, it is hoped that all students can reach their potential with us. Every child is made to feel important and special.

We take the same approach to examinations. No pupil is made to take examinations, but is openly encouraged to do so and this promotes confidence and a sense of achievement. The School enters pupils regularly for ISTD grade and vocational examinations.

Children can join the School between the ages of 3 and 18 years and we also provide an adult ballet class too! Many of our classes have waiting lists so we advise for you to contact us early in order that we can offer you a place.

    The school offers classes in:-
    -Ballet from 3 years
    -Tap dance from 5 years
    -Modern dance from 5 years
    -Conditioning classes from 5 years
    -Acro from 5 years
    -Street dance from 11 years
-Contemporary from ISTD grade 4 Modern or Ballet and above

We also offer extra classes such as Leaps, Kicks and Turns to enhance the modern work and we have our own Ballet Development programme to support and encourage our most talented and keen pupils.

Selected pupils are entered for local dance festivals and competitions locally and more nationally too. Each year we qualify students into the All England Dance Regional Finals and also into the National Finals.

Past pupils have gone on to full-time training at the Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst, Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, The English National Ballet School, Central School of Ballet to name a few. Pupils have also gone on to perform in west end shows, and have places in ballet companies around the world!
